This event features 20 years of Barakat's work, in pictures, and a short video to help raise local awareness about educating girls and women in Afghanistan and Pakistan. You will also hear from Terrell Cox, a Principal Group Program Manager at Microsoft about her thoughts on how “Investing in Girls’ Education Enriches Us All.”
Network with passionate Barakat supporters and new friends over wine, hors d’oeuvres, and desserts. Silent auction items, and drawings for hand-woven scarves and bags, will help support Barakat’s five schools and literacy programs in Afghanistan and Pakistan.

A Little About Our Speaker: Terrell Cox is a Principal Group Program Manager at Microsoft for the Enterprise Client team, delivering key scenarios in application virtualization and mobile device and PC management. During her 15 years at Microsoft, she has worked as an individual contributor, a line manager, and a director, and her career path includes technical writing, engineering program management, and user experience. Terrell is proud to be a founding member of the Women's Leadership Council, a vibrant technical women's community in the Cloud & Enterprise Business of Microsoft that grew from 10 members to over 300 since 2002. She currently lives in Brookline, MA, with her husband and two daughters, who are her true happiness.
